Jason Keller, a Delaware native, has been involved with music, drums and percussion for over 15 years. A majority of his experience has been in the marching arts (marching band, drum corps, indoor drumline). He has taught over a dozen different high school programs and has worked with groups including the Madison Scouts, Jersey Surf, and United Percussion, and even the Baltimore Ravens. Many of his former students have went on to perform with world-class drum corps and indoor drumlines. He also has student’s who have auditioned and earned positions in DMEA’s All-State Band.
Throughout his career, he has played for a wide variety of bands with genres including Rock, Gospel, Hip-hop, Funk, and Jazz, most recently with the roots rock, americana band, The Susquehanna Floods. Jason studied Music Performance at the University of Delaware with a double minor in Jazz Studies and Music Management. During that time he performed in a number of ensembles (Orchestra, Latin Percussion ensemble, Jazz Big Band, and more) that greatly helped shape his playing. Since 2017, Jason has been involved with Caribbean steel orchestras, performing and competing with the Philadelphia Pan Stars (Philadelphia, PA) and New Generations Branches (Orlando, FL) as well as performing with Curepe Scherzando in Trinidad and Tobago. With such a diverse background, he has all the tools and the passion to pass on to the next generation of growing percussionists.
Aside from being an educator and freelance percussionist, Jason has also greatly expanded his expertise in the field as a songwriter, producer, and sound engineer. It only felt natural to include these skillsets and provide them as services to his clients and all musicians regardless of where they are in their career.
